Cynthia "Cindy" Hoffmann

Cynthia S. Hoffmann RACINE-Cynthia “Cindy” Suzanne Hoffmann, 55, passed away peacefully at Ascension-All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was born in Cuba City, WI on December 11, 1961 the daughter of Dr. Earl and Margaret Hoffmann. Cindy was employed as an assembler at Careers Industries in Racine from 2000 until 2016. She found great enjoyment in coloring, dolls and loved the “Little House on the Prairie” television series. Cindy knew her savior Jesus Christ and attended church regularly, most recently Grace Church. Cindy’s family is indebted to Laura Pauling, Cindy’s foster mother for 34 years. Mrs. Pauling helped establish a special education program from which Cindy benefited. Together with her other "family" with special needs, Cindy lived in the Portage/Beaver Dam area before moving to Racine. She is survived by her sisters, Sandra Austin of New Jersey and Linda (Daniel) Peterson of Racine; two nieces, Lindsay Woelbing and Lauren (Scott) Beitzel. Cindy is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and dear friends in Racine and DeKalb, IL. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Earl and Margaret Hoffmann, and her brother-in-law, Neil Austin. Cindy’s memorial service will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 5:30 pm. with Rev. Darien Bowers officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 pm until service time. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb, Illinois Friday. Cindy’s family takes this opportunity to express their profound gratitude to the staffs of Racine Residential Care for their nurturing beginning December 1998 and Kenwood Keys since 2009. Her horizons were broadened by the skills training received through Careers Industries programs and their helpful staff. We also want to extend a very special thank you to the folks at Community Care and Society’s Assets for ensuring her well-being and best interests. Also gratitude to the staff at Ascension for their compassionate care during her recent illness.
