Dorothy Corman

Dorothy (nee: Harmel) Corman, 95, resident of Racine, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. She was born on March 29, 1927, in Walla Walla, Washington, the daughter of the late Carl and Doris (nee: Davidson) Harmel. On June 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Corman at Atonement Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member. Dorothy and Bob were married for over 62 years until his death on August 20, 2010. Dorothy attended Howel Grade School, Franklin Jr. High and Park High School, graduating class of 1945. She was employed with J. I. Case Company as a key punch operator until 1950. Surviving are her sons, James (Jeanne) Corman of Racine and Robert Corman of New York City; grandsons, James R. Corman of Madison, WI, Michael Corman of Racine, Alex (Christine) Gorske of Brussels, WI; granddaughters, Sarah (Alex) Crosby of Cos Cob, CT, Madelein Corman of New York City, Ellaina Gorske of Racine; great granddaughter, Margot Crosby of Cos Cob, CT; six special long time friends, Polly Campenni of Florida, Grace Smieding of Racine, Joanne Sohl of Portage, WI, Darlene Van Drisse of Pardeeville, WI, Sebastian (Jodi) Stephens of Racine; sister, Carol Pederson of Pardeeville, WI; sister-in-law, Gloria Harmel of Racine; nieces and nephews, Carol Ann (Del) Halverson of Racine, Cyndi Sather of Racine, Melody (Paul) Boyle of Friendship, Dawn (Robert) Lemmer of Iowa, Larry (Donna) Fredrick of Iowa, Clarence (Diane) Fredrick of Racine, Michael (Donna) Pederson of DeForest, Eric (Sheila) Pederson of Pardeeville, Mary (Ryan) Stancer of Park Falls, Judy (Richard) Stewart of Milwaukee, Peggy Schmidt of Milwaukee, Laurel Krupp of Racine and Rob Harmel of Racine. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Bob; brothers, Clifford, Donald, Carl R. and Howard H. Harmel; sisters, Evelyn M. Sather and Betty Fredrick and niece, Colleen McCarthy. Funeral service will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. She will be laid to rest with her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Dorothy in a special way direct memorials to The Racine Humane Society.
