Esther Elaine Molbeck

Esther E. Molbeck RACINE-Esther Elaine Molbeck, 89, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Harmony of Racine. Esther was born in Racine, January 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Alexander and Nettie (nee: Busarow) Mossak. She was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1943”. Esther was employed at J. I. Case in the art department and was a talented artist possessing appreciation and knowledge of the arts. She especially enjoyed the symphony orchestra and listened daily to music. On October 23, 1948 she was united in marriage to James Eiler Molbeck. Together they owned Molbeck’s Grocery and Health Foods. In 1980 they opened Molbeck’s Health and Spice Shop. Esther taught for 18 years at Jack and Jill Day Care. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a docent at Charles A. Wustum Museum, volunteered for the Lighted Schoolhouse, was a member of Intergenerational Fair (where she shared her ancient oil lamp collection and Japanese origami) and volunteered at the Racine Historical Society. Esther had a passion for international travel. Above all, her devotion to her home and family made her life complete. Esther is survived by her son, James E. (Connie) Molbeck Jr., daughter, Elaine Dishaw, sister, Alice Jardee, niece and nephew, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sr., on March 10, 1993 and son-in-law, Duane Dishaw, on May 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Ave. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at West Lawn Memorial Park next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Esther in a special way may direct memorials to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie,WI 53158.
