Sandra Lee Ager

Sandra L. Ager RACINE - Sandra ‘Sandy’ L. Ager, 68, was born on March 7, 1946 in Racine, WI. The daughter of Capt. Kenneth and Beverly (Morgenson) Merrill, Sandy traveled the country and the world as an Air Force brat, her own words, but made her way back to Racine where she lived until her passing on Friday January 30, 2015. She was a member of the Washington Park High School class of 1964. Sandy dedicated her life to her family, enjoying playing board and card games, especially cribbage, watching Brewers baseball games, taking a drive through the country, trips to a thrift store or just hanging out on the porch. She also always made an effort to help her neighborhood as a scout leader, room mom, and friend to all. Everywhere you went, you met someone who knew Sandy Ager. Sandy worked for many years as the secretary of the family business, and then went to work at Knight’s Inn as the General Manager. In her alone time, which as the mother of four and grandmother of eleven was not often, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing clothes, making crafts, painting ceramic, reading a good book, and listening to Willie Nelson. Sandy’s legacy will be carried on by her husband, Robert W. Ager Jr., her brother, Ken (Kimm) Merrill Jr., her sister, Jill (John) Willett, step-mother, Geraldine Suprak-Merrill, her daughters, Amy Martinez and Tammy Martinez, her son, Shane (Beth) Ager, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Shannon, Britney, Cassandra, Caleb, Darion, Adrian, Shawn, Anne, Alora, Jack, Kaliyah, Aviyona, Promyse, Samariyah, and Jay’cier. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Capt. Kenneth Merrill, mother, Beverly (Morgenson) Merrill, step-mother, Carol (Petersen) Merrill, in-laws Earl and Vivian (Christmas) Ager, and daughter Sara Ager. Services in Sandy’s honor will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with a celebration of her life to follow at the Fountain Banquet Hall, 8505 Durand Ave., Sturtevant, WI. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Special thanks to the staff and Doctors at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for the many years of care they provided to Sandy, and an extra thanks to the nurses in the cardiovascular wing that took such great care of her and her family in her last moments of life.
