Ann Marie Kubowski

Ann Marie (nee: Pioro) Kubowski, 84 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in the home that she and her husband built together many years ago, surrounded by her family. Marie was born on July 25, 1940 to Frank and Esther (nee: Roy) Pioro in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. On May 4, 1957, she married Herman Kubowski, the love of her life to whom she would spend the next 63 years. Together they raised three children. Later once the children were raised, Marie went to work as a rural mail carrier for the Franksville Post office which she had great pride in. In her early years, she was a member of the Cobra Riders and then the Belle City Beemers, which she and Herman were instrumental in forming in Racine. Marie also took pride on being one the original member of St. Paul the Apostle when mass was held in a basement. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, playing the accordion, gardening along with canning the produce from the garden, and traveling. She and Herman instilled a great love of travel in their children and visited most of the 50 states on family camping trips or on the motorcycle together. After retirement, they enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. She will missed by her children, Brian (Sharon) Kubowski, Debra Kubowski, and Cindy Kubowski; granddaughters Anastasia Kubowski and Natasha Kluck. She will also be missed by her dog Dino who provided her much comfort after the passing of Herman. Marie goes on to be reunited with her husband, Herman; parents, Frank and Esther Pioro; and her brother Jimmy; along with many aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends too numerous to name. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Sturino Funeral Home, 3014 Northwestern Ave, Racine, WI 53404. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., with a service to follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woof Gang Rescue on Melvin Avenue, Racine. Marie’s family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant especially nurse Boguslawa, Marcedes, and Abigail for their excellent holistic care to Marie as well as support to the family.
