Donald William Bowen

Donald William Bowen, 77, passed away with his family by his side, at Aurora Mount Pleasant Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2026. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 12, 1948, the son of the late Donald and Marjorie (nee: Martens) Bowen. Don was a graduate of John Marshall High School. After high school, he served in the United States Army, serving our country in Vietnam for a year. On July 1, 1972, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Pamela McDaniel. They spent 48 beautiful years of marriage together. While Don has been homebound for many years, he remained strong in his faith, often watching shows like Rejoice in the Lord, or TV church services, with his Bible always close at hand. He had fond memories of working at Kellers, but his most impactful career was dedicating his time to staying at home and raising his daughter. Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, close family, and friends. In his prime, He enjoyed playing chess, golf, ping pong, going for walks, and anything to do with sports. After he and Pamela were wed, they enjoyed bowling together in leagues, going to Brewers games, and just doing anything as long as they were together. In his later years, he enjoyed watching sports, especially March Madness and baseball, Family Feud, QVC, cooking shows, reading sports magazines, keeping stats, playing with his many gadgets, enjoying a good fast-food meal, playing cards, and always being ready to jot things down with his infamous pen and notepad. Don will always be remembered for his quick wit, caring ways, generosity, true heart, and loyalty. We could not have asked for a more devoted and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Lopp; grandchildren, Cameron and Chelsea Lopp; brother, David (Cheryl) Bowen; step-granddaughter, Makayla Lopp (Axel), and longtime caregiver and dear family friend, Maria Garay. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela on June 15, 2020. There will be a visitation at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10-11 am. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Donald will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with his wife on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 10:00 am.
