Dorothy Ruth Mazzie

Dorothy Ruth Mazzie RACINE-Dorothy (nee: Kremin) Mazzie, 89, passed away on Tuesday February 21, 2012 at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints with her family by her side. Dorothy was born in Edmonton Alberta, Canada on April 8, 1922 the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (nee: Selky) Kremin. She was united in marriage to Frank J. Mazzie on June 15, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dorothy was employed as a supervisor for Andis Clipper Company retiring 1984 after many years of service. She found great enjoyment in reading, Bingo, Las Vegas, trips up north fishing, and listening to her favorite singer, Andy Williams. Dorothy enjoyed having sleepovers with her grandchildren almost every Friday night for many years. She loved going on vacations to western United States with her husband Frank and with her children when they were youngsters. Dorothy was the envy of her friends for growing the most beautiful rose bushes in her yard. She had a green thumb for any houseplants, especially her African Violets. Most of all Dorothy passed on her faith in God to her children, which they embrace to this day. She always had a smile on her face and a great outlook on life no matter what the situation. Dorothy is survived by her children, Anna (Thomas) DeKeuster of Racine, Henry (Christy) Mazzie of North Cape, and Frank (Michele) Mazzie Jr. of Racine, seven grandchildren, Laura, Lisa, Michael, Sarah, Anthony, Philip and Michelle and three great grandchildren, Sierra, Jacob, and Emily. She is further survived by one brother, Bruno (Elaine) Kremin of Waukesha along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on July 11, 1996, one grandson, Robert, one great grandson David, her mother, Anna on July 11, 1996 and her father Albert, one brother, Richard (Norma) Kremen and sister, Ella (Joe) Cariello. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., on Saturday February 25, 2012 at 12 noon with Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy #32 following mass. Visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until mass time at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Dorothy in a special way may direct memorials to Halo (Homeless Assisted Leadership Organization) of Racine or Racine County Food Bank, 2000 Dekoven Ave. Racine, WI 53403.
