Duane Joseph Rymenams

Duane J. Rymenams RACINE - Duane Joseph Rymenams, 77, passed away on June 11, 2012. Duane was born in Racine on May 28, 1935, the son of the late Gustave and Gladys (nee: Herring) Rymenams. Duane proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Salem-CA-139 from 1952 until 1956. He was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Romahn on March 8, 1958, in McHenry, IL. Duane retired from the City of Racine in 1992 after 25 years of service as Zookeeper along with other duties with the Parks and Rec. Dept. He found great enjoyment in woodworking, model trains and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he was very proud. Duane is survived by his children; Toni (Ted) Seman of Waldorf, MD, Terri Rymenams of Washington, D.C., Kimberly Childs of Racine, Brenda Torchio of Pittsfield, MA., Karla (James) Shuemate and Duanne Rymenams of Racine. He is further survived by grandchildren; Robert Childs III, Andrew (Christine Hempel) Spaulding, Crystal (Omar) Barron, Glen Jaskulske III, Jared Harris, Allie Gonzales all of Racine, Jimmy Pyne of Pittsfield, MA, Dawn (Erik) Schuerholz, Ted, Tim, and Danny Seman all of Waldorf, MD, Sheree Rymenams (Sid Siddiqui) of Washington, DC, great grandchildren, Cesar Jaskulske -Avila, Vicente Medina both of Racine, Riley Hansen-Jaskulske of Key West, FL, Ashton Spaulding, Hunter Harris, Lenox Barron, Aleyna Spaulding all of Racine, Lauren Seman, Ashley, Taylor and Nathan Kern. Charlotte and Jenna Schuerholz and Riley Seman of Waldorf, MD, Jayden Rymenams and Elias Siddiqui of Washington, DC, sisters; Betty Menden, Patricia Miller, Yvonne Craft, Donna Schust, and Susan Roetzer and brother James Miller and sister-in-law, Kay Romahn. Duane is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends including his best canine buddy, Kobi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on March 15, 2008, parents, step parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, sisters; Barbara Compton, Joyce Andersen, brothers; Harry Rymenams and Jerome Miller and brother-in-law, Gary Romahn. Funeral service will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Cashius Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time. Duane will be laid to rest next to his wife, at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. The entire Rymenams family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Caledonia Police, Fire and Rescue Dept. for their valiant attempt in trying to save our beloved father, Duane.
