Elaine Weber

Elaine McGregor Weber Elaine was born October 4th, 1926 and went home to be with our Lord on December 19th, 2024 at 98 years old. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ, her family, friends and her career as an educator. Elaine skipped a grade in high school and graduated from Horlick at 16. She attended ‘Normal School’ for teaching and 14 months later she taught at Fritchen which was a one room country school with all 8 grades. She did this for two years. She then was at Rapids School as the principal and taught 5th-8th grades. She then taught 3rd grade at Fratt School as a unit leader. Elaine was the 1st female principal in Racine at Winslow School. She also was a national consultant for the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She then went on to be an assistant superintendent of schools in Milton, Wisconsin. All this time she constantly went back to school to get her bachelors, masters and credits towards her doctorate. She loved education so much she worked as a substitute principal until she was 87 at Racine Unified. After her reluctant retirement she became the “Lunch Lady” at Racine Christian School. During her life she was also a travel agent and she worked for H & R Block. She will always be known for never wanting to spend money on herself because she was always extremely generous with her family, treating us to many vacations. She was happiest when surrounded by all her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Nick and Alida Sarto, and her sisters Dorthy Van Bree and Dr. Gloria Sarto. Her 1st husband of 25 years, was Don McGregor, and her second husband of 25 years was Carl Weber. Survivors are her two daughters, Cindy (Steve) Miley, and Debbie (Ric) Palmer. She had four grand children. Tiffany (Ryan) Smalkoski and Adam (Jessica) Palmer, Deanna (John) Mleziva, and Rebecca (Mike) Oster. She had 10 great grand children she adored: RJ, Ella and Paige Smalkoski, Emery and Gibson Palmer, Elliott, Allison and Anthony Oster, Chloe and Elsie Mleziva. She had a special nephew Joe(Kathy) Van Bree and many other nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.. She will always be remembered for her love of her family and her constant prayers for all of us. She was NANA to many. Her family would like to thank Hospice Alliance and St. Monica’s for their loving care. We will have a service celebrating her life on January 4th, at Grace Church in Racine. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 with the service starting at 10:00. In lieu of flowers Elaine requested donations be sent to Racine Christian School or a Charity of your choice.
