Eva Amaya

“TOGETHER AGAIN” Eva (nee: Cruz) Amaya, 92, left us on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Hospital to be reunited with the love of her life Pablo, her sons and daughters. Eva was born on March 20, 1932, to Francisco and Aurora (nee: Faz) Cruz. She was united in marriage with her life partner, Pablo Amaya, on November 9, 1946, and shared her life with him for 76 years. She was employed at Saint Mary’s Hospital as a nursing assistant in the Pediatric Unit for almost 30 years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband across the country and Mexico. In their leisure hours, Pablo & Eva spent time watching movies and Mexican novellas. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to dances with Pablo, which was typically a monthly outing with many other friends and family members. She often complained about back pain, but when it came to dancing, it miraculously felt better. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crochet and her flower gardens. She was also, Captain of her Neighborhood Watch program for many years. One of her favorite occasions was celebrating the 4th of July with a huge family cookout at Petrifying Springs, Eva will be deeply missed by her children, Blanca Linda (Tom) Webers, Albert Allen Amaya, Alicia Amaya Placencia, and Roberto Anthony (Angie Palacios) Amaya, daughter-in-law Patricia Amaya; sister, Theresa Martinez and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, in addition to nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends. She goes on to join her husband, Pablo Amaya; children, Miguel Amaya, O.C. Amaya, Rita Amaya Bocanegra, Pablo Amaya II, Danny Amaya, Ricky Amaya and Anna Amaya Tuinstra. Parents, Francisco and Aurora Cruz. Parents-in-law, Miguel and Sabina Amaya. Visitation will be held at St Richard’s Catholic Church 1503 Grand Ave. Racine, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Jose Mario Nieto officiating. Eva will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. Please meet at the cemetery entrance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Albert Amaya, her devoted son, who had given her his loving, gentle care and devotion since the passing of her husband, Pablo.
