George MacDougall III

RACINE-George MacDougall III, 93, passed away on Wednesday November 10, 2010 at Ridgewood, with his family by his side. George was born in Racine on November 15, 1916 the son of George and Clara (nee: Beffel) MacDougall. He was united in marriage to Winifred Sorenson on October 12, 1940 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church. George served in the United States Army during World War II. George was employed at Moxness Products as an inventory manager retiring in 1980 after many years of service. He was a longtime member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, serving in Respite Ministry, church usher and church council. George drove for Meals on Wheels along with being very involved with The Red Cross and the Boy Scouts. George was an avid golfer at various courses throughout Racine County. He also researched genealogy dating back his family roots to when they immigrated from Scotland. George is survived by his four sons, James (Erika) MacDougall, of Fort Meyers, Florida, G. Terry MacDougall, of Dallas, Texas, Scott C. (Terri) MacDougall, of Racine, Robert A. (Wendy) MacDougall, of Menomonie, WI, one daughter, Susan (Thomas R.) Pederson of Hartland, MI., fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Warren (Jean) Smith, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Winifred on June 16, 1983 and his second wife Gertrude McLeod in 1996, two brothers, Russel and Kenneth MacDougall and two sisters, Francis E. and Grace Pauline MacDougall. Funeral services for George will be held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. 6th Street on Sunday November 14, 2010 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Walter Hermanns officiating. There will be a visitation at church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until service time. George will be laid to rest with full military honors at Graceland Cemetery, next to his wife Winifred, in a private ceremony. Memorials in George's name may be directed to Holy Communion Lutheran Church. George's family would like to thank the staff at Harmony Living Center, Nancy Willis from Hospice Alliance, Linda, Jane, Shay, Debbie, Scott and Dr. Gierahn at Ridgewood Care Center for their care and compassion.
