Hermida Ann Goepfert

Hermida Ann Goepfert RACINE - Hermida Ann (nee: Lamcha) Goepfert, 82, passed away at Brookdale Senior Living in Brookfield on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Hermida was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 9, 1929 the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (nee: Mann) Lamcha. She was united marriage to Rev. George Goepfert on July 4, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. Hermida was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Racine, and received personal satisfaction participating in Diana’s Angels, (an organization of volunteers that lovingly make burial clothing for premature babies). She also shared her talents by making hundreds of “chemo caps” and afghans for the Cancer Center at Froedtert Hospital. Hermida is survived by her sons; Ronald (Cheri) Goepfert of Brookfield, Robert (Patricia) Goepfert of Racine, and Bruce Goepfert of Castle Rock, Colorado. She is further survived by grandsons; Michael (Paige) Goepfert of Munster, IN., Matthew Goepfert of Brookfield, Bradley Jones of Racine, and great grandchildren, Mason and Aubrey. Hermida is also survived by brothers; Raymond Lamcha of Parma, Ohio, Rudolph “Al” Lamcha of North Royalton, Ohio and stepsister, Grace Phipps of Chesterland, Ohio, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends in Racine and Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. George Goepfert, former pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Sturtevant. Also preceding was her daughter, Sharon, granddaughter, Heather, and brother, Frederick Lamcha. Funeral services for Hermida will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Lawrence Shephard officiating. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m. Those wishing to remember Hermida in a special way may make memorials to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4340 6 Mile Road, Racine, WI 53402 or Susan G.
