Ida M. Hunn

Ida M. Hunn Racine – Ida M. (nee: Tempesta) Hunn, 93, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints. She was born in Racine on April 24, 1918, the daughter of the late Cherubino and Pierina (nee: Lucarelli) Tempesta. Ida was united in marriage in San Francisco to Charles J. Hunn Sr. in 1942. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of Victoria Colonna Italian Women’s Lodge. Ida’s working career began at Eisendrath Tannery; later she was a school crossing guard. She also had worked at Insinkerator until her retirement. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ida will always be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit and the twinkle in her eye, which will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles (Connie) Hunn of Phoenix, AZ and James (Jody) Hunn of Waukesha; grandchildren, Michael Hunn of LasVegas, NV, Geoffrey Hunn of Costa Mesa, CA, Kristen Hunn of Scottsdale, AZ, Ashley Hunn of Waukesha and Christopher Hunn of Milwaukee; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Braeden, Addison and Vincenzo; sisters-in-law, Cele Tempesta and JoAnne Boughton; brother-in-law, Bill Sharkey. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on February 23, 1998; daughter, Patricia; brothers and sisters, Nellie Giacinti, Ezio Tempesta, Delma Hepworth, Arnold Tempesta, Herman Tempesta, Hilda Dacquisto and Anthony Tempesta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2023 Northwestern Ave. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 until 10:45, at which time there will be a Victoria Colonna Prayer Service. Memorials in Ida’s memory to the American Heart Assoc., Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested. A special thank you to all her friends and caregivers.
