John Marino

John Marino, 95, resident of Franksville, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, and now is reunited with the catch of his life, Leona. He was born in Milwaukee on January 1, 1929, the son of the late Michele and Carmela Marino. On September 11, 1954, John was united in marriage to Leona (Karniewski). He was a faithful member of St. Louis Parish for 65 years. John’s greatest pleasure in life was his family, going up to the lake house, making breakfast for his babies or having his babies visiting him in Disney during the winter months. John loved Lake Michigan fishing, especially with his dear friends Tom and Sheri. He also enjoyed Texas Holdem Poker, the Packers, taking care of his birds and visiting Debbie and David in the winter months when he no longer went to Disney. John fulfilled his bucket list when his grandson Jacob took him to Las Vegas last month. John will be missed by his children Debbie (David) Scafidi, Annie (David) Stangas, Cindi Marino, Annette (Ken) Noll, Mary Jo (John), Schimanski, John (Renee) Marino, Kim (Jack) Bianchi and Jodi (Dan) Nelsen. He is further survived by 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. John is also survived by his sweet cousin Patsy (late Leroy) Nelson, whom he talked with every day, sister-in-law Vivian Marino and his cousin John (Mary) Famularo and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Leona, brothers Salvatore and Joseph, and sister Prudence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 County Road Hwy. G., Caledonia on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. until mass time. John was an amazing man and will be forever missed. The Marino family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kim, Jack, and Ali Bianchi for the constant care they gave John the last four years. In addition, we would like to thank the entire staff at St. Luke's Hospital for the wonderful care provided to our Dad.
