Julie K. Hanson

Julie K. (nee: Honore) Hanson, 60, resident of Racine, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Seasons Hospice in Oak Creek. She was born in Racine, WI on December 26, 1961, the daughter of Jerome Honore and the late Kay Mulvey. In 2012, Julie was united in marriage to Michael D. Levy, Sr. Surviving are her children, Jasmine (Jasen) Lohr, Jordan Hanson, Michael Levy, Jr., Joy (Colie) Blake, Joe Levy, and Renata (Athena) Santiago. She is furthered survived by her brother Jeffrey (Debbie) Honore, brother Jonathon Honore and sister Jennifer Honore. As well as grandchildren Averi, Wesley, Kenneth, Damian, KJ, Isabelle, Jaden, Chance, Bella, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, relatives, and dear friends. Always with a positive healing attitude. She had a way with words, art and quiet compassion to offer support far and wide. An exceptional mother, wife, relative, friend, teacher and grandmother. Julie graduated in 1991 as a Registered Nurse, with high honors. She continued her education to become a licensed massage therapist in 1997. These titles, she was very proud of. Her work as a massage therapist gave her the ability to help people by providing a place to heal and a listening ear. Julie loved gardening, cooking, travel, and art. Her artist journey was self-taught. She enjoyed working with her hands and finding creativity to express herself. She made characters and decorations with her sewing machine, pencil and charcoal drawings and ended the journey with large scale landscape scenes from her beautiful imagination with acrylic paint. Her garden included well placed and designed flowers surrounding her home. She loved to watch sparkles on the lake at her happy place with coffee in hand and end her day with a cooking show or documentary. Now she is with her mother, aunts, and friends as they celebrate over cake and coffee. A memorial service for Julie will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sarah Walker Cleavland officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time. She was cremated and will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
