Margaret Amanda Erven

Margaret Amanda Erven RACINE – Margaret Amanda (nee: Jensen) Erven, 92, attended to by family in the comfort of her own home, slipped away peacefully, carrying dignity and grace into eternal life on January 8, 2014, following complications incurred as a consequence of heart, cardio-vascular and kidney disease. Born in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on June 29, 1921, the youngest daughter and last surviving sibling of eleven (11) children born to parents Oscar and Amanda (nee: Noe) Jensen. Margaret was a lifetime resident of the Racine and Kenosha vicinity, graduated from an accredited beauty school in Milwaukee, supported her country on the production line during World War II, raised a family of four and was an avid bridge player in her spare time. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Amanda Jensen, two (2) husbands, Lawrence Wilde and Charles Michael Erven; six (6) brothers, George, Albert, Leo, Peter, Richard and Theodore, and four (4) sisters, Evelyn, Lillian, Viola and Rose Lynn. She is survived by four (4) children, Charles, James, Carol and Sandra; five (5) grandchildren, Alice, David, Amanda, William and Rebecca; ten (10) great grandchildren, Caleb, Michael, Elizabeth, Joshua, Benjamin, Charles, Julia, Isabella, Elijah and Jane, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. Margaret in particular will long be remembered for her undivided love for family, her heartfelt and inspirational compassion, her unbridled laughter and her endearing smile. Her gracefulness most of all will be sadly missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 1425 Grove Ave. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 a.m., after which Margaret will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday, before services from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Edward’s Catholic Church are strongly encouraged. On Margaret’s behalf, a special note of thanks and appreciation extends to Wheaton FranciscanMedical Group, home care nurses and hospice staff for their unwavering dedication to her health and wellbeing.
