Marie Louise Knudson

Marie L. Knudson RACINE-Marie Louise Knudson, 76, passed away at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, on June 7, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born in Racine on December 19, 1938 the daughter of the late George and Bertha (nee: Extrom) Christensen. Marie’s dedication and involvement at Holy Communion Lutheran Church for over 45 years defined her true faith and giving spirit. She was very involved in bible study and the RESPITE program and many other church organizations. Marie found great satisfaction as a volunteer with Cops ‘N’ Kids for over 10 years. She was employed as a Research Technician for Eaton’s Cooper Power Systems, retiring in 1999 after 22 years of service. Marie is survived by her children, Laura (Daniel Bogacz) Knudson of Racine, Nancy (Steve) Gauger of Burlington, son, David (Nancy) Knudson of Racine; grandchildren, Steven Bogacz, Katie Gauger, Matt Knudson and step-grandchildren, Derek Gauger, Darci Gauger and one step-great grandson, JT Gauger. She is further survived by two sisters, Margie (Robert) Lavine of Louisiana, and Johanna (Richard) Stocker of Colorado, in addition to nieces and nephews, Johana Olivier, Barbara Polster, Walter Lavine, Glen, Gary, Bob and Eddie Christensen, Richie and Jimmy Stocker. Marie is further survived by other relatives, long time club friends, including her beloved church family and many other special friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alan, Kenneth and David (Lila) Christensen. Marie’s memorial service will be held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W 6th Street on Thursday, June 11, 2015 with Rev. Mark Doidge officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 4 pm until service time at 6 pm. Marie will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at West Lawn Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Marie may direct memorials to Holy Communion or Horizon Hospice, 11400 West Lake Park Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53224.
