Patricia Ann Cavan

Patricia Ann Cavan (Paulson) lifelong resident of Racine, WI, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and businesswoman, died peacefully in her husband’s arms on October 11, 2016, at the age of 81, following a long illness. She left her family and friends with years of valuable memories, laughter, inspiration and sometimes tears. Pat Cavan was an entrepreneur. Her first business, Cavan’s Appraisal Service, conducted the highest quality household and estate sales for many Racine families over many years. As her business expanded, she added appraisal services for attorneys, bankers and judges throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. She did this for 30 years until finally retiring in 2004. Pat was also a successful real estate agent for King Ehrlich from the mid-1970’s to the early 1980’s when she and her husband, Bob, decided to continue a legacy business inherited from his family. Cavan’s Furs sold and serviced luxury furs for clients in Wisconsin and Illinois. Pat was always ready to try something new. Pat and Bob were married on September 1, 1954. Their 62 years of marriage was lived with a devotion that came from a lifetime together filled with easy smiles, gentle touches, travel, family and friends. Together she and Bob raised three children and generations of Shelties. Pat is survived by her husband Robert 'Bob' Morgan Cavan; daughter, Debra J. (Paul)Petersen; son, Kenneth R. (Melody) Cavan; daughter, Sue A. (Peter) Scalera; grandchildren, Christopher, Justin and Stephanie Scalera; her brothers, James (Nancy) Paulson; Andrew Paulson; Daniel (Susan) Paulson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Bonnie Jean Paulson, and sister-in-law Kay Paulson. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge special brother-in-law, Andy Paulson, special friends; Bob and Marilyn Pishny, Ollie and Alberta Nielsen.
