Robert Bernard Gallagher II

Robert Bernard Gallagher II RACINE - Robert Gallagher of Franksville, 69, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Becker Shoop Center. He suffered from dementia. Robert was born in Butler, PA on November 16, 1947. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Miller Sutherland, and his father, Robert B. Gallagher. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou Gallagher, and his sister, Joan Hostetler of Cabot, PA. He is also survived by his nieces, Jody Tack of Butler, PA, Michelle Faybik of Cabot, PA, and Dawn Phillips of Woodberry Forest, VA, and their children. Bob proudly served his country as a Green Beret in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Knoch High School in Saxonburg, PA, received his BA in Accounting from Grove City College in Grove City, PA, and his MBA from Golden Gate University at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC. Bob's career was in manufacturing management. This took him to several wonderful locations in the United States, and in countries such as, Germany, France, Italy, England, and Brazil. He worked for Talon, a division of Textron in Stanley, NC, Morton, MS and Lake City, SC. Robert worked for Federal Mogul in Summerton, SC. He worked for Case Corp. in Wausau and Racine, WI. Bob worked for Zenith Electronics in Melrose Park, IL. In addition to these companies, he served as a manufacturing consultant. Bob was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. He enjoyed reading, card games, and most of all, golf. He will be remembered fondly by friends and family as a loyal and caring man. Sincere appreciation is given to Dr. Zablotney and the entire staff of Becker Shoop. So many have made such a positive, comforting difference over the years. Deepest gratitude is given to so many wonderful caregivers, especially Nicole, Yolanda, Kara, Angie, Lupe, Carmen, Tammy, Belinda, Bev and many more. A special thank you to Marquardt Hospice, Alechia, Catherine, Felicia, Pastor Ray, Katy and Kelly. So many friends have been there for Robert, especially Maribel Salo, Penny and Jeff Timm, Karen Christiansen, Marilyn Holbus, Ana and Bruno, Pastor Dave and Pastor Christine. A funeral service with full military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove, WI 53182 at 12 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, the United Way, or a charity of your choice has been suggested by the family.
