Robert 'Bob' L. Rouze

RACINE - Robert 'Bob' L. Rouze, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Ridgewood Care Center. Bob was born in Goodridge, Minnesota on September 10, 1921, the son of the late Samuel D. and Myrtle M. (nee: Ferdinandsen) Rouze. He received his Bachelors Degree in accounting and CPA through University of Minnesota. Bob proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1942 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. On April 16, 1949 Bob was united in marriage to Ellen E. Korpi in Rochester, Minn. He retired from Twin Disc after more than 30 years of service, where he was Secretary/Treasurer/ V.P. Bob had been a member of the American Society for Corp Secretaries, Financial Executive Institute, National Association of Accountants and Tax Executive Institute. He served six years on the board of directors for the Taylor Home and St. Luke's Hospital and for the Southside Revitalization Corp. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling and golfing. Bob is survived by is his wife of 61 years, Ellen and their children, Jeff Rouze of Los Angeles, Calif, Christine Rouze, Randolph (Katie) Rouze, Colleen ( Steve) Gottschalk all of Racine and Steven Rouze of DePere. He is further survived by grandchildren, Daniel (fianceé, Tina Wiesner) Gottschalk, Brian (Christine) Gottschalk, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Mirabel, Sophia, Brandon, Ciara and Tyler Rouze and brother-in-law, Ernest (Cora) Korpi of Chisholm, Minn. Bob was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Eileen (John) Albers. Memorial services for Bob will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Ave. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. and on Thursday at church before services from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ Church United Methodist, the Salvation Army or to Racine County Food Bank have been suggested. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints Rehab Unit, Home Health staff and Ridgewood Care Center for the fine care Bob received.
