Russell "Russ" Marcotte

Russell Ernest Marcotte RACINE – Russell “Russ” Ernest Marcotte, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at his residence. Russ was born in Hubble, Michigan on August 16, 1928, the son of the late Henry and Melvina (nee: Rock) Marcotte. He served in the United Sates Navy on the USS Shangri-La in 1945. Russ was united in marriage to Arlene Panka on May 14, 1988 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He was the sixth employee to be hired at R & B Grinding, where he worked until his retirement in 1996, previously employed at American Motors and J.I. Case Company. He was a lifelong Packer Fan and enjoyed Potawatomi and Oneida Casinos. Russ is survived by his wife, Arlene; his children, Eleanore (John) Jones, Jim (Kim) Marcotte, Joe Marcotte (Sonya Falcon), Pat (Dan) Quinn and Peter (Clair) Marcotte; stepchildren, Jim (Carolyn) Panka, Joe (Dawn) Panka and Jack Panka; sister, Henrietta (George) LaMothe; brother, Francis (Bea) Marcotte; grandchildren, Stacy (Donny) Johnstone, Kristy (Laith) Gilbertson, Becky (Jamie) Hartley, Brian Quinn, Matthew (Courtney) Marcotte, Mike Panka, Ashley Panka, Aaron Kristopeit, Sara (Joseph) Harmon, CarriAnn Reed (Christopher Braun), Kelly Reed and 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandaughter. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Russ was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Marcotte, daughter, April Starling on January 30, 2010 and sister, Eleanore. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. with Fr. Bill Dietzler officiating. Russ will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery Hwy #32 with full military honors. Visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday evening, May 5, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday before mass from 11:30 a.m. until time of mass. Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice, 2675 N. Mayfair Rd. Ste. 500, Wauwatosa, WI 53226 or to Patient Services, Inc., P.O. Box 1602, Middleton, VA 23113 or to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Russ’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to K-mart Pharmacy staff on Green Bay Rd., Dr. Choi and the cancer staff at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, Vitas crew, Robin, Amber, John, Krista, Nancy and Dr. Ismaile. Also to special friends, Terry and Dale Tyler, Jim White, Randy and Michelle Humburg and especially Jim Marcotte and all of the Marcotte family.
