Fay "Dolly" Christensen

Fay "Dolly" Christensen Racine – Fay “Dolly” Evelyn (Timm) Christensen, 85, started her next journey on Friday, March 30, 2018 at The Woods of Caledonia. She was born in Mondovi, WI October 7, 1932 to Fred and Ella (Thomson) Timm. She was married to Richard Charles Christensen on May 24, 1952 in Racine. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1992. Fay was a graduate of Park High School, Racine Teachers College and Carthage College. Last working for Racine Unified as a Reading Specialist before retiring. She was a member of The League of Women Voters, WREA and REA. We have daily journals that Fay wrote in for the past 60 years to remind us of the beauty of the world around us, and to see the beauty of this world through our own eyes and share with our generations of family yet to come. Crossings... So, I am sitting here wanting memories to teach me, to see the beauty in the world through my own eyes. Since you've gone and left me, there's been so little beauty, but I know I saw it clearly through your eyes. Now the world outside is such a cold and bitter place. Here inside I have few things that will console. And when I try to hear your voice above the storms of life, then I remember all the things that I was told. Well, I am sitting here wanting memories to teach me to see the beauty in the world through my own eyes. Yes, I am sitting here wanting memories to teach me to see the beauty in the world through my own eyes. I think on the things that made me feel so wonderful when I was young. I think on the things that made me laugh, made me dance, and made me sing. I think on the things that made me grow into a being full of pride. I think on these things, for they are true. I am sitting here wanting memories to teach me to see the beauty in the world through my own eyes. I thought that you were gone, but now I know you're with me. You are the voice that whispers all I need to hear. I know a "Please", a "Thank you", and a smile will take me far I know that I am you and you are me, and we are one. I know that who I am is numbered in each grain of sand. I know that I am blessed, again, and again, and again, and again. Survived by her daughter, Bonnie Christensen-Lee (John Lee) Grandson, Richard Hagopian (Cynthia Schutz-Fiancé) of Racine, WI, Granddaughter, Raechel Rowland of Los Angeles, CA and a Sister, Marge Wendt (John Wendt) of San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, brothers Ed, Tom and Harry as well as her parents and grandparents. Special Thank You to The Woods of Caledonia for their compassionate care and the Grace Hospice team for their gentle touch for the final journey. Private services will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:30 am. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the family.
