March 5, 1942 - January 23, 2021
Kathleen M. Stanczyk (nee: Kaempfer, formerly Nienas) March 5, 1942 – January 23, 2021 It is hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Kathie returned to Heaven on 1/3/2021 after a short stay in the Ascension All Saints ICU. She had been having numerous medical issues and it was a mercy to send her home. Kathie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William and Florence Kaempfer (nee: Giesler). She was the middle child of three sisters. Kathie was always very spiritual and devoted her life to Christ at a very early age and continued to learn and grow in the Lord throughout her life. She was a solid and steady prayer warrior and was always praying for others. She was married Allen Nienas in 1962. Their marriage was tumultuous, and she divorced him six years later. They had a girl and a boy, just as Kathie always stated that was just what she always wanted. She then married Leonard Stanczyk in 1976 and remained married to him until her death. They were married for 45 years and she often commented that this marriage was so different from her first marriage. She always seemed surprised to find out how long she had been married to Lenny and was looking forward to them growing old together. The two of them were always on the go – doing all kinds of things together. Kathie graduated from Horlick High School – Class of 1960. She decided to enter the workforce instead of pursuing higher education. She held many jobs and embraced learning new skills. She was wonderful when working with people and was often complimented on her positivity in all things. She loved working when she could be creative. She remained friends with so many people that she worked with over the years. Kathie was often involved with many groups over the course of her life, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA, Knit Wits and the Ladies Guild. She loved getting together with other people and always very social. It was difficult to meet her and not become her friend. Kathie had such a talent for celebrating, such as family birthdays, family showers, and Girls Day Out. She did all that she could to make you feel special and her love showed through with everything that she did. Kathie was strongly committed to charitable organizations, especially supporting children, veterans, and animals. She was constantly giving to organizations with her time, efforts, and money. She was a person who never resisted a generous impulse and cared so much for others. Kathie is survived by her husband, Leonard Stanczyk, daughter, Lynn Kay Nienas, son, Lee J.W. Nienas (Margie Nienas-Woodington), her two sisters, Jean Abegglen and Karen Schroeder and her puppies, Lady and Buddy. She leaves many other loved ones and friends who will miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Kaempfer, brother-in-law and friend, James Abegglen and others. The family will be holding a celebration for Kathie when it is safe for all of us to meet. The family is hoping that this celebration will be held this summer. A special thank you to Dr. Gullberg for his dedicated and compassionate care of Kathie. It was so appreciated by her family and they are grateful for your attention to her.
