November 30, 1949—June 25, 2019 Racine — Roy W. Ruyter, 69, passed away on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Ascension All-Saints Hospital Racine, WI from a heart attack. Roy was born in Pekalongan, Java, Indonesia, moved to California in 1960 via The Netherlands. Preceded in death by his mother Roselie Ebell Marien , two fathers, Dirk Ruyter and Marino Marien (step-father), and two brothers, Max Ruyter and Edward Marien. He is survived by his son Scott Ruyter, his daughter Julia Ruyter and three grandchildren; Max and Daxton Ruyter and Ayden Maresh. Also his ex-wife Diane Anderson, three brothers; Rene Ruyter, Humphrey Marien, Rick Marien, two step sisters; Miranda Cullett and Winny Bernd, many nieces; Dawn Lopez, Jackie Paringrit, Christina Ruyter, Celina Ruyter, Deanna Sorro, Stephanie Deboard, Myrna Marien, Jennifer Stith, Brigette Bernd, nephews; Paul Bernd, Trefford Marien, Clint Marien, Troy Dye, Ryan Cullett and cousins in The Netherlands; the Meyners and Ebell families. He will be missed by his Wisconsin family. Ex in-laws Bernie and Julie Griese, Josh Griese, Michelle and Jimm Schneider. Nieces; Alissa and Kelli Schneider and nephew Jack Griese as well as his good friend Don Anderson. Roy went to Hawthorne High Class of 1968. Studied at UCLA 1974. He was a Viet Nam Veteran, United States Army in 1969. Roy’s hobbies included bowling, Tae Kwan Do and tennis. He worked at Xerox in El Segundo, CA for 23 years and received multiple awards for perfect attendance. In Racine, he worked at J.I. Case, SC Johnson Waxdale and BDR. Roy was a kind, caring, fun-loving, nurturing individual and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice or a Veterans Charity in his name. The family would like to thank Annie, Roy’s Cardio Nurse, for taking such good care of Roy and her kindness and compassion that she showed everyone. Annie, you ARE a Rockstar. A Veterans service will be held on Friday, July 26th at 1:00 PM at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery; 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove.
