Betty E. Pinnow

Betty E. Pinnow Waconia, MN - Betty E. (née: Milaeger) Pinnow, 92, a courageous woman of faith entered into eternal life on January 19, 2015. Betty will be remembered for her positive determined spirit and her steadfast faith in Christ. Betty was born to John and Minnie Milaeger (née Nitz) in Milwaukee, WI on April 20, 1922. In December of 1929 the family moved to Racine, WI. Betty attended St. John's Lutheran School and Wm. Horlick High School. Upon graduation she worked at SC Johnson Wax, Inc. On February 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Sgt. Walter E. Pinnow. Together they raised three children in Racine. Betty owned and operated Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Store on Main Street for 28 years where she excelled at cake decorating. Betty enjoyed music, singing, gardening, sewing and painting. For many years she made award winning antique reproduction porcelain dolls. Betty was also active in many church and community organizations. Betty is survived by her son, Kurt (Phyllis) Pinnow of Rochester, MN, daughter, Kimberly (Doug) Hile of Excelsior, MN, daughter-in-law, Kristie Pinnow of Phelps, WI; Grandchildren, John (Hadley) Pinnow and their children Benjamin, Samuel, Noah and Sophia of Maple Valley, WA; Peter (Jennie) Pinnow and their children Paul and Ella of Eden Prairie, MN; Matthew (Bobbi) Pinnow and their children Addison and Hannah of Westchester, NY; Christopher Pinnow and his children Griffin and Ava of Houghton, MI; Brian Pinnow of Tolland, MA; Laura (Joshua) Kimber and their children Madelyn, Taylor and Abigail of Chanhasssen, MN; J. Peter (Ashley) Hile of Littleton, CO. Betty is further survived by her dear sister-in-law, Joan Milaeger, special niece, Kristine (Daniel) Reisdorf, Kevin (Susan) Milaeger, Kent (Robin) Milaeger, Connie (Ken) Shriver, Dean (Tia) Stecher, Scott (Sue) Stecher, brother-in-law, Edward Stecher. In addition, she is survived by many dear cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews with whom she shared many fond moments. She also enjoyed a special relationship with the staff and residents at the Lighthouse of Waconia. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Pinnow on June 9, 1974, son, Dr. Kory E. Pinnow, brother, Daniel F. Milaeger, parents, John and Minnie Milaeger, in-laws, Hans and Mary Pinnow, sister-in-law, Ruth Stecher, nephew, Greg (Pattie) Stecher, dear cousin, Helen Wirthman; and dear friends, Ruth Robey, Mary Hegeman, Evelyn Kapow. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 510 Kewaunee St. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Friday before services from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Betty will be laid to rest next to Walter at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. John's Lutheran School Endowment Fund Racine, WI or Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, MN are appreciated.
