Donald C. Miller

Donald C. Miller FRANKSVILLE – Donald C. Miller, 77, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on August 11, 1936, the son of Henry and Eda (nee: Thompson) Miller. Donald was a graduate of Menomonie High School. He enlisted and proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961, honorably discharged with a rank of Sp4. Donald was united in marriage to Sue Bosley on November 25, 1961 at the Methodist Church in Knapp, WI. He had been employed at Western Publishing for more than 40 years, retiring in 1993. After retirement he and Sue enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, AZ. Donald was a member of Franksville United Methodist Church, including the Men’s Club. He also was a member of Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and the Wergland Norwegian Society. Donald enjoyed watching the Packer games, fishing, playing cribbage and once having a perfect hand of 29 points. He liked hanging out with his buddies at Brossman’s, Greg’s Catering and the Sausage Kitchen. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and attending the annual Miller Family Picnic in Menomonie. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Sue and their children; Donald F. (Jenny) Miller and Jacquelyn (Russ) Guillien all of Racine; grandchildren, Sydne Guillien, Lukas Guillien and Matthew Guillien; brother, John (Ruby) Miller of Menomonie; sisters, Carol (Marvin) Saxton of Menomonie and June Wisner of Hudson; brothers-in-law, Ray Nielsen and Jim Bosley; sisters-in-law, Janice Miller, Dorothy Miller, Faye Miller, Geri Miller, Debra (Mike) Myers. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin “Bud”, Virgil, Lester, Arlo (Betty Dahms) and Roger; sisters, Betty Nielsen, Donna Benson and Doris Miller, brother-in-law, Merville Wisner; sister-in-law, Rita (nee: Sagstetter) Bosley Memorial service and inurnment for Don will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Knapp at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Fellowship and memories will be shared at Matson/Miller American Legion Post in Wilson at 2 p.m. Special thank you to Dr. Riece and staff at Froedtert Hospital, especially Kay, Ellen, Rachella and Judy and the Hartland Hospice team. Memorials to Franksville United Methodist Church have been suggested.
