Jerry Le Roy Schultz

On February 8, 2025 God called home to himself our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle & friend, Jerry L. Schultz, 78. Jerry was born April 13, 1946 to LeRoy and Inez (Schuler) Schultz in Monroe, Wisconsin His young life was spent in Monroe, Niagara, and Kimberly Wisconsin. Most of his adult life he lived in Racine, Wisconsin and lately in Appleton, Wisconsin. Jerry was very active in Boy Scouts. He enjoyed camping at summer camp and earned many awards. He graduated with honors from Kimberly High School, class of 1964. Jerry served in the Army from December, 1966 to December 1968. After graduation from NCO training he was assigned to Alaska where he spent much of the next year and one half. After military service Jerry enrolled at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville in the Industrial Technology program. He graduated with high honors in May, 1972. While at Platteville he met his wife, Kathy. They were married June 17, 1972 and enjoyed almost 53 years together. They were blessed with two sons, Martin and Nathan. Jerry was a very involved father; bike rides, camping trips and science projects were particular joys. Jerry had a deep and abiding faith. It was the highest priority. He was an example of a Christian father to his sons. He was a faithful and active member at First Evangelical Lutheran church in Racine; serving as pioneer leader and as a member of the church council many times. Since 2022 he has been a member at St. Paul Lutheran in Appleton. The best times of his life meant spending time with his wife and sons and also with his numerous nieces and nephews. He was a mentor and friend to them. His five grandchildren brought him the greatest joy! Each visit was a treasured time. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law, Bennett and Marion Olson, brother, John Schultz, brothers-in-law, David and Martin Olson, and Raymond Schwingle several aunts and uncles. He is survived and treasured by his wife Kathy, sons and daughters-in-law Martin and Jackie Schultz; Nathan and Cass Schultz. Grandchildren: Jacob (Ireen) Olson, William (Kaylee) Sauter, Isaac, Elise, and Audrey Schultz. He is further survived by his Sister and brother-in-law Judy Schultz and Jack Titter, Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law John and Judy Olson, Sisters-in-law Ruth Schwingle, and Lucinda Olson and many well-loved nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jerry’s name to Shoreland Lutheran High, First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Racine or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton Funeral services will be Sunday, February 16, 2025, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa Street at 3:30 pm. Family will meet with friends and family from 2:00 pm until time of service.
