Judith Ann Hopkins

Judith Ann Hopkins RACINE - Judith Ann "Judy" (nee: Phillips) Hopkins, 73, was born to her heavenly home for eternity through faith in Jesus Christ on March 11, 2017 at 6:33 p.m. at Ascension All Saints Hospital. In just that moment, Judy took her last earthly breath and her first heavenly breath and was carried off in to the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Judy was born on October 12, 1943 to her earthly parents, Vernon Ray and Helen (nee: Uebe) Phillips at St. Luke's Hospital in Racine. Look at Judy's wedding picture. What a beautiful woman. She could have had any man, but she married me, Gary Hopkins, at First Church of God in Racine, on October 3, 1964, with Pastor Everett Rockhill officiating. I thanked Judy for being the mother of our two boys, Michael James on August 4, 1965 and Andrew John on July 5, 1967. I thanked Judy for being my wife for over 52 years, and my friend and lover. Judy had a tender and warm heart towards others who were in need. She graduated from Horlick High school in 1961. After graduation, she worked for Hamilton Beach Co. for two years. Once the boys were born, she was a stay-at-home mom. For many years, Judy worked as a home health care worker. Judy liked to bowl, and she did so on many leagues. Judy leaves behind her husband, Gary; sons, Mike and Andy, special friend, Gus Sorenson; four grandchildren, Samantha, Kelsie, Riley and Sully, one great granddaughter, Adlin. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Marcella Feil, Delores Gautsch, June Hopkins, Patti Hopkins and Linda Hopkins; brothers-in-law, Richard (Sandy) Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, Thomas (Julie) Hopkins, niece, Denise Norby, in addition to other relatives and many dear friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Virginia Hopkins, brother, Vernon Ray (Judy) Phillips Jr., brothers-in-law, George Feil, Glenn Gautsch, Clyde Hopkins and nephews, Tom Burnman, John Burnman, and Brian Norby. She was also preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial service for Judy will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Joy James officiating. Visitation will held at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until service at 4:30 p.m. Judy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at West Lawn Memorial Park.
