Lillian Marie Rondone

Lillian Marie Rondone RACINE - Lillian M. (nee: Dominick) Rondone, 96, passed away with her family by her side at her home on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Lillian was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on March 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Victor and Theresa (nee: St. Angel) Dominick. Lillian graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1936”. She was united in marriage to Joseph Rondone at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on April 20, 1940. She was a volunteer for St. Mary’s Auxiliary for 39 years, active in Cardiac Capers, lifelong member of Catholic Women’s Club, and Vittoria Colona. A proud member of St. Catherine’s Alumni Association and a member of the Racine Yacht Club since 1940. Also, Lillian enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed fond memories of her Ladies Card Club with her same friends for more than 70 years. Lillian with her husband Joe and son, Michael owned and operated Rondone’s Liquor on State Street for over 50 years. Lillian and her husband found great enjoyment traveling throughout the United States including Hawaii. Lillian is loved and will be sadly missed by her children, Samuel (Thanthle) Rondone of Milwaukee, Barbara Rondone and Michael Rondone, both of Racine; six grandchildren, Todd Rondone, Joseph Rondone, Nikol (Ian) Carlson, Matthew Rondone, Kailin Pucci and Raychel Rondone and four great grandchildren, Sebastian, Genevieve, Kendall and Lilyanna. She is further survived by nephews, Victor Dominick and Jon (Laurie) Dominick and goddaughters, Kathy Chaffee and Beverly Rondone. Lillian is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on May 27, 1990, brother, Tony (Lois) Dominick, and nephew, David Dominick. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Lillian will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Given Lillian’s lifelong history of freely giving to various charities and those in need, her family suggests memorials to one’s favorite charity or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A special thank you to the staff of Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for the loving care provided for Lillian.
