In Loving Memory of Scotty Bucholz Jr. October 22, 1996 – August 8, 2026 Forever 29 With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the unexpected and tragic passing of our beloved Scotty Bucholz Jr., who left this earth far too soon on August 8, 2026, at 9:40 p.m. He was just 29 years old. Scotty was born on October 22, 1996, and from the beginning, family and friendship were at the center of his life. He had a natural gift for bringing people together and loved entertaining, socializing, laughing, sharing good food, and spending time with those he cared about most. He enjoyed trying new things, especially trending foods and new restaurants. Scotty had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling, experiencing different cultures, and exploring new places. One place especially close to his heart was Lithuania. Scotty was deeply proud of his Lithuanian heritage and enjoyed learning about its history and culture. Visiting Lithuania was one of his biggest dreams, something he spoke about often and looked forward to experiencing firsthand. Scotty also loved art, particularly the works of Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. His interests in art, history, culture, travel, food, and people reflected his genuine curiosity about the world. Friendship played a central role in Scotty’s life. He deeply valued his “day ones”—his earliest friends who remained close throughout his life. His circle of friends continued to grow over the years, and many considered him their best friend. Scotty, in turn, made everyone feel the same way. He always made room in his heart and at his table. Above all, Scotty loved his family. He was a devoted older brother to Michael Bucholz, Marisa Bucholz, Kayla Czechowicz, and Kira Bucholz. From childhood into adulthood, he supported his siblings, celebrated their achievements, and expressed constant pride in them. Holidays held special meaning for Scotty. He never missed an opportunity to call, visit, or connect with his family. These moments were never obligations to him—they were what mattered most. His friends and family were his life. Scotty is survived by his loving mother, Melanie Larson (Verikas), and stepfather, Thomas Larson; his father, Scott Bucholz; his brother, Michael Bucholz; his sisters, Marisa Bucholz, Kayla Czechowicz, and Kira Bucholz; his aunts, Kala, Amber, and Alicia; his grandparents; his uncles; and his many beloved younger cousins. He also leaves behind a large and devoted circle of friends, including his treasured “day ones” and many others who became like family. Scotty’s life was tragically cut short as a result of gun violence while attempting to intervene in a domestic violence dispute. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. But the way Scotty died will never define the way Scotty lived. He will be remembered for his friendships, his devotion to family, his support of his siblings, his laughter, his love of entertaining, his excitement for discovering new food and restaurants, his appreciation for art, his pride in his Lithuanian heritage, and his curiosity about the world. Twenty-nine years was far too short. There should have been more birthdays, more holidays, more family gatherings, more restaurants to try, more trips to take, more victories to celebrate, more nights with his “day ones,” and more memories with his extended family and friends. And there should have been that long-awaited trip to Lithuania. Although Scotty did not have the lifetime he deserved, he filled his years with love, laughter, friendship, curiosity, and adventure. We will continue to speak his name. We will tell his stories. We will laugh when we remember the things only Scotty would say or do. We will honor him by celebrating holidays, trying new foods, traveling to the places he dreamed of, and supporting one another the way he always did. And someday, when his family makes that journey to Lithuania, Scotty will be with us in our hearts. Scotty, you were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure. Forever 29. Forever loved. Forever our son, brother, family, and friend. Forever our Scotty.
