Thomas George Hynes

Thomas George Hynes, 69, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Ascension All Saints, Racine. He was born in Algona, Iowa on August 19, 1955, the son of Joseph Edward and Mary Jane (nee: Klein) Hynes. Tom graduated from U.W River Falls, WI with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering with an emphasis in food and process systems. He was united in marriage to Janet Moebius on July 4, 2004, in Cooper Landing, Alaska. Tom was president and owner of Process Solutions Inc., from 1991 until his retirement in 2018. Prior to his illness, Tom was an AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Volunteer. Tom found great enjoyment in fishing, bird watching with Horicon Marsh as a favorite stop, road trips down rustic roads, photography, canoeing, reading and playing the guitar. Two of his favorite places to visit were Grand Teton National Park and Eagle River, WI area. Trips with Janet, his brother, Dan, and Dan’s wife Leigh were always filled with fun and created many wonderful memories. Yearly road trips to visit his aunt, Sister Imogene Klein, was a favorite often combined with sightseeing in the surrounding area. Tom also enjoyed family get togethers with his brother-in-law Scott and sister-in-law Julia, whether it was spending Thanksgiving with niece Jennifer and Julia’s mom Eileen, or going to the zoo with niece Jessica, Jessie, Owen, and Austin. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Janet, son, Tim, siblings, Pat (Jan) Hynes, Dan (Leigh) Hynes, Gin (Gary) Messick and Mike (Kathy) Hynes, brother-in-law, Jerry Schill, aunt, Sister Imogene Klein and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elaine Schill, and Carolyn Ovans, and brother, John Hynes. Tom’s memorial service will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday March 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time with Chaplain Kathy Schmid officiating. Tom will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at West Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.
